Walton: key residential development opportunity launches

Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) has launched marketing of its development site west of Walton Manor and south of Groveway.

Occupying 15.6 acres in the southeast of the city, the site has outline planning consent for up to 174 homes. The residential development land is accompanied by an additional 7.2 acres of open space and existing structural planting.

With direct roundabout access off Groveway to the north, the site also benefits from public transport links to the city centre and via a pedestrian link to Hullwell Gate.

The Open University lies to the north, Walton Manor to the east, Simpson Road and Caldecotte Reservoir to the south and Woughton Park extends along the entirely of the western boundary.

Aligned with MKDP’s commitments to inclusive and equal communities, a minimum of 36 per cent of the homes must be affordable.

A single-stage informal tender will now be undertaken to select an appropriate developer and scheme.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Thursday 18th April 2024.
